Buying or viewing DEFA films

You can obtain DVDs and Blu-rays on the Icestorm Distribution company website: on the newspaper neues deutschland shop https://www.neues-deutschland.de/shop/ . - I’d like to view a DEFA film that is not yet available for purchase, i.e., not yet released on DVD.
For this you contact the Film Archive at the Federal Archives. You can search the website Benutzungsmedien , to check if the material is available. You can also find user tips here. - I’d like to purchase a DEFA film that is not yet available in stores, i.e., not yet released on DVD.

One cannot apply for the DEFA Foundation prizes. The foundation asks institutions and partners for their nominations for prizes, from which a jury selects the winner. - I’d like to do an internship with the DEFA Foundation.
