Short Summary (English)

To win the love of a beautiful but haughty princess, a prince sets out to find the singing, ringing tree. Finally, he finds what she wants so much with the ruler of the realm of magic, an evil gnome. But the prince receives it on one condition: the little tree must sing for all it's worth all day long, if the princess loves her suitor. As she remains cold-hearted, however; the prince is turned into a bear. He abducts the princess from the castle and takes her to the enchanted garden where the animals flinch from the princess who dealt them nothing but torture in the past.

However; deprived of her beauty and power; she slowly changes for the better. In the process of gaining self-knowledge, she becomes attached to the kind bear. The gnome fears his plans thwarted and entices the princess out of the enchanted forest. However; she sees through his scheme and spares neither trouble nor danger to return to the forest. Finally, she rescues the prince with the help of her new friends, the animals. The happy pair returns to the castle.

Short Summary (German)

Um die Liebe einer schönen, aber hochmütigen Prinzessin zu gewinnen, macht sich ein Prinz auf die Suche nach dem singenden, klingenden Bäumchen, das von der Prinzessin so begehrt wird. Er findet es in einem Zaubergarten, in dem ein böser Zwerg herrscht. Der gibt ihm das Bäumchen unter einer Bedingung: Bis zum Abend muss der Prinz die Liebe der Prinzessin erringen, sonst wird er in einen Bären verwandelt - was auch passiert. Durch eine List holt der Bär die hartherzige Prinzessin in den Zaubergarten, wo sie, ihrer Schönheit und Macht beraubt, langsam Herz entwickelt. Sie gewinnt die Zuneigung der Tiere, verliebt sich in den Bären, und schließlich kehrt ihre Schönheit zurück. Der Zwerg sieht seine Pläne durchkreuzt und lockt die Prinzessin aus dem Zauberwald. Doch die hat das böse Spiel inzwischen durchschaut. Sie scheut weder Mühe noch Gefahren, in den Zauberwald zurückzugelangen und ihren Prinzen zu befreien.

Per conquistare l'amore di una bella ma superba principessa, un principe si mette alla ricerca dell'alberello che canta e che suona, tanto bramato dall'amata. Lo trova in un giardino incantato, custodito da un nano cattivo disposto a cederglielo a una condizione: entro sera dovrà conquistare il cuore della principessa, altrimenti verrà tramutato in un orso - cosa che poi succede. Con un trucco l'orso porta la principessa nel giardino incantato: privata del suo potere e della sua bellezza, la ragazza si addolcisce, conquista l'affetto degli animali, s'innamora dell'orso e ritrova l'antica bellezza. Per paura che i suoi piani vadano a monte, il nano addesca la principessa fuori dal bosco incantato, ma questa ha capito il tranello. Senza temere fatiche e pericoli, tornerà nel bosco per liberare il suo principe. (Italienisch)

Pour gagner l'amour d'une belle mais hautaine princesse, un prince part à la recherche de l'arbre qui chante et qui danse, que la princesse désire tant. Il le trouve dans un jardin magique, sur lequel règne un méchant nain. Ce dernier lui donne l'arbre à une condition: le prince doit conquérir la princesse d'ici le soi-même, sans quoi il sera transformé en ours, ce qui ne manque pas d'arriver. Grace à un stratagème, l'ours amène l'insensible princesse dans le jardin magique où, dépouillée de sa beauté et de son pouvoir, elle développe petit à petit sa sensibilité. Elle gagne l'affection des animaux et tombe amoureuse de l'ours, avant de finalement récupérer sa beauté. Le nain voit ses plans contrecarrés et enferme la princesse hors du jardin magique. Mais celle-ci a compris le jeu du nain malfaisant. Elle ne compte pas sa peine et ne craint pas le danger pour retourner dans le jardin et sauver son prince. (Französisch)
