Short Summary (English)
Tom, a completely naive, inexperienced and not very selfconfident young man, is waiting for love to hit him like a thunderbolt out of the blue. One day, a miracle actually does happen: Corinna, a young city woman, moves with her father to Tom's small hometown. When setting eyes on Corinna for the first time, Tom is bowled over: he falls in love at last! In order to get closer to his adored and to win her over, he becomes very inventive. For instance, he takes up Japanese porcelain painting, hoping to impress Corinna's father as well. When he learns from Floh, a playmate from childhood days, that Corinna wants to become an actress, he decides to take up acting as well.
He actually manages to get the admired woman interested in him for she now believes to have found someone who is on her wave-length. He develops amazing talents for the stage which represents "all the world". Although Corinna fancies Tom, she falls in love with the young Major. Floh, who has secretly been in love with Tom, talks him into driving to Berlin for an audition...Tom does not pass this test. Yet, his eyes have been opened all of a sudden: it is really Floh he loves.

Short Summary (Other Languages)
(Italienisch)
